Local Landscapes and Water Lilies Comprise New Art Exhibit

Frank DePietro’s Realist Works Debut at Beauty Art Gallery
PRESS RELEASE – “Contemporary Realist Paintings” featuring local landscapes and water lilies by Frank DePietro will appear at Beauty Art Gallery in Edgmont from February 1 to March 8, 2014. A public reception with the artist will be held February 1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Beauty Art Gallery is located at 3857 Providence Rd., Newtown Square, PA 19073. In case of poor weather, the reception will be held Saturday February 8.
“Frank’s landscapes tend to intrigue people. His use of light is masterful and his compositions provide a fresh viewpoint that often surprises and delights the viewer,” says gallery director Paula Farley Jackson. DePietro‘s water lilies and landscapes depict favorite scenes from Chester County, Kennett Square and Longwood Gardens. About Frank DePietro
Frank DePietro grew up in Scranton, PA, where at an early age, he had his first encounters with oil painting. These childhood experiences with the medium led to his life-long endeavor of painting.
After receiving his Bachelors of Art degree from Bloomsburg University, he moved to Philadelphia where he studied at many of the area art institutions including Tyler School of Art and Studio Incamminati. Frank continued to live and work in Philadelphia for several years, practicing and experimenting with various techniques and concepts in painting.
In 2010, he and his family moved to Kennett Square in Chester County, PA. He quickly became heavily influenced by the Realist tradition of the Brandywine Valley painters. Frank has since adopted much of this influence into his work while combining it with the Modernist principles he has practiced over the course of his career.
