Actual 3rd Street Dam Expenditures since 1999

From the borough manager, Jeffrey Smith, the actual expenditures on the 3rd Street Dam since 1999 have been approximately $322,404.12 as of June 21st, 2011.

As stated in the meeting last month, Borough Council and the Finance committee has allocated $250,000 this year alone for the design fees for the third street dam, which would nearly double all funds spent in the past on design.

Attached is the actual costs associated with the 3rd Street dam since 1999.

The subtotals are:

  • Engineering and Design: $273,687.51
  • Legal costs: $41,924.75
  • Public safety and notices: $5,569.54

The bulk of the engineering and design costs went to Schnabel Engineering ($215K), then to NDI Engineering (former borough engineer Clark “Sandy” Walton’s firm) ($28K) over the 12-year period.

On a yearly basis, the amount spent per year is $26,867 per year, representing 0.3% of Media’s annual budget.
