Update 12:30PM: Resident pictures below!

Hurricane Irene left much of Media without power for short periods on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, with power restored to most of the town by evening. Several areas in southern Media are still without power on Monday, August 29th, according to residents’ reports.

The following photos show some of the more dramatic damage done by the storm, although on a relative scale, it would appear that Media fared relatively well in terms of damage done.

Many basements in Media accumulated 5 inches or more of water, and the sound of gasoline generators and water running from sump pumps were audible in the Eastern district of Media on Sunday afternoon.
