VFW Post 3460’s Country Night Saturday November 26th; Seeks new members

Country Night November 26th

Media, PA’s VFW Post 3460 is hosting a Country Night event this November 26th, 2011 at 5:30 PM. Cost is $25.00 and includes dinner, a draft beer and the show which is expected to be 3 hours. Doors open at 5:30 PM, buffet begins at 6:00 PM and show starts at 7:00 PM. The event is open to the public, and is a nonsmoking event.

VFW Seeking Eligible Veterans

In addition, Media, PA’s VFW Post 3460 is seeking new members to join its ranks. The VFW, which stands for Veterans of Foreign Wars, is a veterans organization which aims to bring veterans together socially. To learn more, view their site at Post 3460.

To be eligible for the VFW you had to have served in a combat zone for at least 30 days. If someone wants to join they must submit a copy of their DD214, which is an official discharge form from their military organization. The VFW’s policy is that anyone who has served or is serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, will receive free membership as long as they are on active duty.

The VFW offers service officers in each post to assist members with service related issues – A place where they can get together and meet others that have served. The VFW also does political advocacy  to maintain existing veterans benefits, as well as lobbying to improve them. The more members your local VFM has, the louder the  voice of all veterans in Washington.

The VFW has activities at our post such as Friday Night Dinners, a monthly buffet breakfast, a pool team, open houses and fund raisers.

We have regular shows, such as comedy nights, bands, and singers, and of course, Country Night.
