Breaking: Bomb threat at Media Courthouse

Media courthouse was shut down this morning due to a bomb threat which was called into the 911 call center. The building was cleared of all personnel and bomb-snifffing dogs were brought in to search for possible threats. Media Police were on hand to assist Delaware County Sheriffs Department in clearing nearby roads. In addition, Media Providence Friends School which is directly north of the courthouse was asked to lock down their facility for the protection of the children and staff.

Residents may have noticed that helicopters were flying over the courthouse.

Police and officials will continue to investigate the bomb threat.
