Eternal Rhythm Band to Perform at Media Theatre January 11 And 12

Media’s own Michael “Motown” Carter will bring his Eternal Rhythm Band to The Media Theatre on Friday, January 11 and Saturday, January 12. A high energy dance-funk and rhythm and blues band, ERB’s focus is on keeping audiences happy, clapping, and singing along to familiar tunes made famous by legendary groups such as Kool & The Gang.

The band is known for its tight four part harmonies and re-invigorated arrangements of classic dance hits. This is the second time they have appeared at The Media Theatre, having been a part of its Garage Band Festival in 2011.

“We look forward to returning to The Media Theatre,” Carter said. “Our first concert there was a big success when we were known as Eternity. We have gone through a few changes since then, but the core of the group remains the same. The style has not changed, nor has it become re-invented. We have more of a focus on tightened harmonies and an atmosphere of fun.”

Michael “Motown” Carter is the lead vocalist for ERB and has performed in the area at Harrah’s Casino in Chester, Generation’s, Riddle Ale House, Stephen’s on State Street, and The Rusty Nail of Havertown. He has been performing since he was a teenager.

ERB will be joined on Friday January 11 by popular jazz R & B vocalist Shiron Denise O’ Neal of Media. She has performed at The Ford Detroit Jazz Festival, Cincinnati Jazz Fest, and Birmingham Jazz Fest as well as at local venues in and around the Delaware County/ Philadelphia region. She is accompanied by her husband Tony Womack on trumpet and keyboard. She is currently seen in The Media Theatre’s production of  “A Velveteen Rabbit Christmas” while her husband music directs the production for youth.

On Saturday January 12 ERB will be joined by local band Cool Confusion, which specializes in covering great hits from the 1960’s to the present day.
