May is Celiac Awareness Month: Celebrate by Dining at Iron Hill

RELEASE – WILMINGTON, DE – This May, during Celiac Awareness Month, guests with restricted diets will flock to the nine Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant locations, where more than 30 gluten-free menu items are available all year round.  Iron Hill’s extensive celiac-appropriate offerings are among the most comprehensive on the market, and make it easy for those with special dietary needs to enjoy a great meal.

“One of our favorite things about being in this business is taking care of people, and that is doubly true for those who can’t consume certain ingredients such as gluten,” says Iron Hill Culinary Director Kevin Davies.  “We’re happy to accommodate those who struggle with celiac disease – this month, and throughout the year.”

Iron Hill’s extensive gluten-free menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including:  Baked Chicken Wings with a choice of classic buffalo or fiery chipotle sauce, ranch dressing, carrot and celery sticks;  Red Quinoa Salad with spiced pecans, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, granny smith apples, green onion with an orange-vanilla bean vinaigrette and green apple-ginger puree;  Fajita Spiced Chicken Salad with romaine and iceberg lettuce, pico de gallo, avocado, jalapeno, queso fresco, Monterey jack cheese and served with a chipotle ranch dressing;  Brabant Mussels with white wine, leeks, garlic, fresh lemon and cream;  Slammin’ Jammin’ Burger with tomato-applewood bacon jam, minced red onion and sharp cheddar cheese;  Portobello Mushroom Sandwich, wilted spinach, balsamic glazed onions, asiago cheese served with a provolone and rosemary-garlic mayonnaise;  Pecan Salmon with parsnip-potato mash, broccoli, scallion sauce and fresh lemon;  Char-Grilled Flat Iron Steak, red chile rubbed with parsnip-potato mash, tri-colored peppers, onions and chipotle-lime sauce;  Shrimp, Catfish, Andouille, Red Beans and Rice, a classic Creole preparation;  andFlourless Chocolate Torte served with a raspberry sauce and whipped cream.

In addition, Red Bridge, a special gluten-free beer, as well as a complete Gluten-Free Kids Menu are also available.  Guests with dietary restrictions are urged to alert their server or bartender so that the restaurant can accommodate their specific needs.

Founded by home brewers Kevin Finn and Mark Edelson and restaurateur Kevin Davies in Newark, DE in 1996, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant has blossomed from one restaurant and brewery to nine locations across the mid-Atlantic with a tenth location in Voorhees, NJ scheduled to open in summer 2013 and Ardmore, PA in 2014.  Each restaurant is dedicated to producing and serving top-quality hand-crafted beers and cuisine in a warm and hospitable setting, and all are open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
