What:  Tie-Dye Music Festival

Where:  Community Arts Center (414 Plush Mill Road, Wallingford, PA)

When:  Saturday July 19th, 2-7pm

The festival features a full day of concerts featuring Jimmy Shoe & the Shine, Manatawny Creek Ramblers, Herb Mondros, Last Chance and SwUKEstra, as well as tie-dye activities, vendors, raffles, food, and feel good summer vibes.

Event t-shirts or onesies may be purchased for $10 (aprons for $15) and tie-dyed (DIY) at no additional charge.  Attendees may also bring up to 2 items of their own to tie-dye for a $5 charge. CAC staff and expert tie-dye artist Bob Deane will be on hand to help participants with the tie-dye process.

Throughout the day, five local bands will entertain festival-goers. Music includes reggae and ska from Media’s own Jimmy Shoe & the Shine, traditional bluegrass by Manatawny Creek Ramblers, carefully selected acoustic covers by Herb Mondros, folk- roots fusion and bluegrass by Last Chance, and the sounds of the Swarthmore Ukulele Orchestra with SwUKEstra.

CAC volunteers will sell hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, water ice, soft pretzels, drinks, and homemade pizza made in the CAC’s newly constructed cob oven. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own food and beverages.

CAC Executive Director, Paul Downie said, “Last year’s Tie-Dye Music Festival was such a big hit, we are once again presenting our summer concerts as a one day, fun-filled, family event combining music with one of our favorite art forms – tie-dye. This bigger event allows us to bring more acts and give people a program that will last the whole afternoon. We’ll also be raffling off some great prizes including a tie-dye party at the CAC, a tie-dyed set of table linens, a gift certificate for Vinyl Revival records, and more. Mark your calendar; you’ll want to stay home from the beach this weekend!”

The Tie-Dye Music Festival is a rain or shine event. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs/blankets if outside. If inside (in CAC’s Duke Gallery), chairs will be provided. Additional parking provided by Pendle Hill, next door to the CAC, at 338 Plush Mill Rd.
